Regenerative Medicine

The Logan Institute (TLI) has been a leader in using platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cells to deliver innovative regenerative therapy for joint repair and medical aesthetics.

When an injury occurs the body automatically signals for help and calls platelets, white blood cells, red blood cells and other components within your body to travel to the site of injury. Once there, these cells communicate with each other to release specific growth factors that initiate the healing process.

When used at the site of injury, the growth factors and other components in platelet rich plasma (PRP) have been shown to accelerate healing of injured tissue. This results in improved function and decreased pain in patients of all ages and activity levels without surgery.

We partner with local orthopedic, chiropractors, trainers and physician specialists to treat aging joints and sports related injuries. This is accomplished by using a dedicated extraction lab to process your own blood to obtain the components that will facilitate maximal healing of the joints/tendons and ligaments. Blood is taken from your vein and then spun in a special centrifuge to extract the stem cells and PRP. It is then heated to a target temperature to activate collagen and then platelets are activated to release the growth factors that will allow for new cartilage formation from your own tissue. This is all done to achieve the greatest concentration of true plasma RICH platelets. If you are considering stem cell/PRP therapy, be sure to understand if this is from placental/embryonic “stem cells” or if it using your own serum (blood), bone marrow or adipose (fat) cells. We use ONLY cells and growth factors that are derived from your own blood and do not use the other placental derived cells.
